Asia
The impact of technology in modern life is unmeasurable, we use technology in different ways, your appointments get organized on your computer, you pay your bills electronically saving time and money, you communicate, network and reconnect with businesses and people you haven’t even thought about in decades.
During a business trip to Asia in 1987, I met a young Taiwanese business man. We seemed to have a lot in common, both young and ambitious. We accomplished many business transactions, granted, not all transactions were smooth sailing, but it was a relationship built on communication and ideas. That association would be reconnected almost three decades on, thanks to modern technology.
I had received a connection request from the Taiwanese business man I had met back in 1987. I almost fell of my chair, it was so long ago and so much time had passed. He had reconnected with me mindful I had many years of business experience with China and Taiwan. Over the years he ventured into new business developments and changed paths which lead him to connect with a diverse class of government officials, business owners and operators in Asia.
I was invited to Asia where I would meet, coach and discuss business international expansion and opportunities. I was rewarded sizeably for my time and instrumental connections, dining with officials and the elite, partnering with manufacturers and producers. This visit would see Australia’s introduction and launch of a ‘state of the art’ quality controlled glass bottle manufacturing plant and Kinmen Kaoliang Liquor, a distilled liquor (also referred to as Baijiu) of Chinese origin and one of the most popular brands of kaoliang liquor in Taiwan and China.
