An Atitude of Hard Work, Commitment and Purpose

I was privileged to have been invited to be a apart of the ANZHP team from my good friend Ken Smith and Sunny Sun.

I joined the team to Qingdao China and spent most of the trip with the team it was truly inspirational. Ken and Sunny have worked really hard to put Australia in the spotlight of China.

While the many team members on the trip to China enjoyed my company, I took avid notes so I could share key lessons with my readers.

TIPS ON DOING BUSINESS IN CHINA

  • Protect your intellectual property with the same due diligence you would in the West
  • When negotiating, the best strategy is to go in with a walk away mentality. State your terms then be prepared to walk away if they are not met
  • Deal with a Chinese person of influence. If they feel you are trustworthy, there is a chance you will succeed
  • Document everything in writing and precise detail. Present your idea in stages, use sketches, charts and diagrams
  • Make sure all of your facts are accurate. If you make a mistake you may not be trusted
